Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Florian Steidl is the Managing Director of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Rheinhessen (IHK) and the spokesperson for tax and fiscal policy for the IHK Working Group of Rhineland-Palatinate.
He studied Governance and Public Policy as well as International Economics in Passau, Göttingen, Bogotá, and Antwerp. He earned his outstanding Ph.D. in Public Finance under Prof. Dr. Berthold U. Wigger at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he also served as a research assistant in the Department of Public Finance and Public Management.

This was followed by senior positions at the IHK Wiesbaden, including Chief Economist, and Managing Director, as well as serving as an economic policy advisor to the Prime Minister of Hesse at the Hessian State Chancellery.

At the same time, Florian Steidl served for many years as a lecturer in economic policy and health system economics at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden.

His academic and economic policy advisory work focuses on tax policy, public finance, and excise taxes, on which he publishes regularly.
